The sorghum plant most likely originated from Africa. The gluten-free grain is often ground into meal for making porridge, breads and cakes. For a quick breakfast, try sorghum porridge with a dash of fresh lime juice.
You will need….
250g sorghum meal; 3 or 4 cups of water; lime juice (from half a lime); brown sugar (to your taste) and a pinch of salt
To prepare it….
Mix the sorghum with the water and bring to boil on high heat, stirring regularly. Add a small pinch of salt and a spoonful of brown sugar (according to your taste) and mix well. Reduce the heat and let the porridge simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes. When ready, add the lime and your breakfast is ready!
