A simple but very tasty beef dish from Botswana

You will need….

1kg boneless beef; salt to taste; 1 T oil; 1 small yellow onion (optional)

To prepare it….

Cut up the beef into cubes and boil it with water over high heat in a covered pot.  Add salt, reduce the heat and simmer until the meat is very tender for about an hour or so. Drain any excess water then shred the meat with a fork and / or pound it until tender then shred. Sauté the chopped onions in cooking oil and add to the beef.  Mix the onion well with the beef and cook the mixture for a few more minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.  Serve the seswaa with blanched spinach or a side dish of your choice and voila!
